As president of the Louisiana State Bar Association (“LSBA”) Health Law Section, Jacob played an important role in the recognition of health law in the state of Louisiana as a legal specialty. Through his efforts, the Health Law Specialty was approved by the LSBA Board of Legal Specialization, the LSBA House of Delegates and the Louisiana Supreme Court and is now a recognized legal specialty in Louisiana. Jacob also volunteered at the IRB for one of the largest hospitals in the region. Jacob Intellectual Property is also a registered attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and advises clients on a wide range of IP matters, including technology transfer, confidentiality and material transfer agreements. His legal experience also includes in-house collaboration with the Louisiana State University AgCenter in its intellectual property office. Military service Jacob is a proud member of the U.S. Army and currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He joined the US Air Force in 2001 and spent 12 years in business. Lt Col Simpson continues to serve with the United States Air Force Reserve Corp since 2013 as Judge Advocate General (JAG).
